Ethan Miller is the research editor of RedLightPanelIndex. He is an electrical engineer who has been researching and using red light therapy devices since around 2020. His focus is the hardware: which wavelengths a panel really emits, how its irradiance figure was measured and at what distance, LED and driver design, flicker, EMF and fan noise.
Instruments he works with
Ethan owns and uses the instruments that panel spec sheets are built on, and knows how each figure is supposed to be measured:

The figures in the database are not his bench readings. They come from manufacturers and from named third parties, each labeled with its source and method, as the methodology sets out. His role is to check that a figure is stated in a way that can be compared, and to catch the ones that are not.

Ethan is not a doctor or a medical professional. Health statements on this site are limited to what published trials found, each with a PubMed ID that is verified before a page can publish, and the evidence pages say plainly where the evidence is weak or missing.
