This site collects no personal information beyond standard server logs and website analytics. No accounts, no sale of data. Outbound brand links may carry affiliate identifiers.

What is collected

Server logs. Like every website, the server records each request: the page requested, the time, the requesting IP address, and the browser's user-agent string. Logs are used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse, and they are not combined with any other data to identify you.

Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics to see which pages are read and how visitors move through the site. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and processes information about your device and connection under Google's privacy policy; the reports the site sees are aggregated and are not tied to accounts. You can stop this collection with a browser extension such as Google's Analytics opt-out add-on, or by blocking cookies. The hosting and content delivery provider may also set technical cookies needed to serve the site securely.

Site search. The search box runs in your browser against an index downloaded with the page; search terms are not sent to a server.

The contact form. If you use the contact form, the name, email address, topic and message you enter are sent by email to the site's mailbox and kept as ordinary correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your message. The form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which processes information about your browser and connection to tell people from automated submissions under Google's privacy policy.

Links to other sites

Links to brand stores and to PubMed leave this site. Brand links may include an affiliate identifier, described on the affiliate disclosure page. Each destination applies its own privacy policy.

Your choices

You can read every page on this site without giving any personal information. If you have written to the site and want your correspondence deleted, ask through the contact form and it will be removed.
